Company Background

Our client is a growing wholesale business with ambitious plans to expand significantly over the next five years. The company operates in a fast-paced market and is currently transitioning to a more structured, data-driven approach. Investments are being made in new systems and processes to enhance efficiency and support strategic objectives.

With a substantial revenue stream and a dedicated workforce across multiple locations, the business is focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join the team. This role is crucial in supporting data-driven decision-making, ensuring data integrity, and providing valuable insights to drive operational efficiency.

As a Data Analyst, you will work cross-functionally to analyse key data sets, generate meaningful reports, and support business operations through deep data insights. Your ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable recommendations will directly impact business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret operational and financial data to support decision-making across procurement, inventory management, logistics, and sales.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insight into business performance, key trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Identify patterns and trends in large data sets, providing actionable recommendations to optimise processes.
  • Collaborate with various teams to refine data management processes and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and data protection regulations.
  • Assist in forecasting and business planning by providing accurate and timely data insights.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and enhanced data analysis tools.
  • Work closely with IT and system administrators to optimise data structures within ERP and reporting systems.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a data analyst role, ideally within supply chain, wholesale distribution, or operations.
  • Strong proficiency in data visualisation and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar).
  • Experience working with ERP systems and large data sets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key trends and insights.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of financial data is beneficial but secondary to data analysis expertise.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £35,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Professional development opportunities within a growing organisation.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment that values innovation and efficiency.

This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven professional to make a real impact in a dynamic and evolving business.
